181. ( March 24, 2019) : Alphanumerically differently abled Hasina overcomes poverty: 

She is Hasina, a successful member of Gyan Baba SHG in Para village of Shukulbazar block. She has a family of 8 members. Family is landless. Prior to coming in to the group, she was very poor. After joining SHG, she could grab opportunities made available to her through her SHG. She took a cumulative sum of Rs 70, 000 and started three income generation activities as under:

  1. Rs 20, 000 for purchase of cow and starting a dairying activity.
  2. Rs 40, 000 for purchase of buffalo and expanding her dairy activity
  3. Rs 10, 000 for opening cosmetic shop

SHG of Hasina is five years old. She is illiterate but now she learned to sign after joining SHG. From the two income-generation activities mentioned above, the family of Hasina has come out of poverty and family members are living happy life. She is able to send all her five children to school. She is working as social worker and guiding other SHGs of the village. She gives credit of her happiness and well being to her group, which is running well.
