I 270. (October 23, 2019) : SHG paves way for Namita for her exit out of poverty:
She is Namita, a successful member of Krishna SHG under RGMVP in Thakur ka purwa village of Harringtonganj block in Faizabad district. She belongs to a very poor and landless family. She has 4 members in the family consisting of husband, herself and 2 sons. Prior to joining the group, she did not have any income generation activity and husband was working as casual labourer. After joining the group in March 2015, she has enjoyed following financial assistance from the group:
- Rs 10, 000 for purchase of she buffalo heifer, which is now pregnant and likely to come in lactation soon.
- Rs 30, 000 for purchase of milch cow of good breed giving 8 to 10 litres milk per day.
She has taken 2 bigha of land for cultivation on batai (lease) basis. Now with the income from 2 income generation activities i.e. cultivation and sale of milk, poverty of the family is greatly reduced and family members are happy. She is educated up to 5th standard and her both the sons are school going. She is very frank and fearless in talking with everyone and commanding good social reputation thanks to her exposure through her SHG. She gives whole weightage of her present position to her group, which is running well.
